Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power – Why Is It Facing Backlash?

Season one of Lord Of The Rings: The Rings of Power was initially released on 1st September 2022, on Amazon Prime. Lord of the Rings is a periodic drama produced by J D Payne and Patrick MacKay, an adaptation of Tolkien’s epic Lord of the Rings series. Amazon has come up with the second season of the series with a blend of Tolkien’s world and characters as background set years before Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings “and created its fanfiction.

Tolkien lore has a massive fanbase. Arguably one of the biggest that exists. Tolkien did not leave much to interpretation. According to critics and the general audience, Season 1 takes a strong start out of the gate but ends up getting bogged down. The visuals are compelling with a storyline that isn’t engaging therefore failing to garner interest due to inconsistencies throughout the plot.

Lord Of The Rings: The Rings of Power Plot

Sauron planned to rule the Elves of Eregion, by appearing to them as Annatar, the “giver of gifts,” claiming to teach them to make Rings that would preserve Middle Earth against the ravages of time— as seen with Rivendell and Lorien being so beautiful compared to the outside world.

But in reality, the Rings would allow Sauron to read and rule their thoughts, with his one Ruling Ring. But when he put the One Ring on his finger, the Elves became aware of his plan; and so they took off their Rings of Power and hid them, while the lesser Rings were destroyed. Sauron demanded the Rings back, and got 16 of them; he gave one to each of the Seven Houses of the Dwarves, and the rest to kingdoms of Men.

But the Dwarves were too tough to be broken by the Rings, so Sauron got back three of the Rings from them, and the other four were consumed by dragon fire. Men, however, were not aware of Sauron’s plan, and could broken by the Rings into becoming wraiths under his control; and they became the Nazgul.
