Five women take part in a corporate hiking retreat deep in the Victorian mountain ranges, one of the five is a whistle-blower and she disappears. Federal Agents Aaron Falk and Carmen Cooper join the search in the hope of finding her alive. The film was originally set to be released in Australia on 24 August 2023. However, the release of the film was postponed with a new release date yet to be set, due to the impact of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike in the United States on the film’s promotion. It was eventually rescheduled to be released on 8 February 2024.

For his next case, Aaron Falk must uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of Alice Russell, a woman who appears to have come across a secret so big she vanishes while in a corporate hiking retreat. Four other women were also present during the remote hiking trip, but each one tells a completely different story, complicating the entire investigation.
As more lies and revelations emerge, suspicions and distrust only escalate. He then quickly sees that things aren’t what they seem, fuelling his desperation to find answers before he runs out of time. There’s a company holding an employee retreat (that really doesn’t sound like much fun) during which a group of men and a group of women have to travel through the outback separately. At the end of the few days, the women return several hours late, injured, and missing one person, Alice. Alice was in contact with Falk, who is investigating the company’s finances because dodgy things are going on. Falk received a voicemail from Alice the night she disappeared, but her phone signal was awful and he only caught two words: “hurt her”.
On the first night, the men and women mingle and Alice talks with her boss, Mr. Bailey. After this talk, she tells Jill that she wants to return home to her daughter, Margot. The women seem to have gone off track on the second day. We learn that Alice led the women in the wrong direction on the second day. They have to camp outside that night. Carmen and Falk bond a bit. He shows her the maps his father annotated. Falk goes to talk to Mr. Bailey about his son. He and his wife insist that his son didn’t distribute the photos. Breanna gives Falk and Carmen the files about Bailey Tennants that they were after.
