Coldplay is a famous band formed in 1996, consisting of the famous lead vocalist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion, has won over 300 awards and has successfully sold a hundred million albums worldwide. After a long wait by the fans, The Band is all set to perform a hat trick show in Aamchi Mumbai, at the DY Patil Stadium in January 2025 pertaining to their Music of the Spheres World Tour. The band last visited India in 2016 and is fondly reminisced by millennials for its enthralling performance.

With Hotels in Mumbai in the vicinity charging a whopping amount of 1 lakh INR per night with 90% of rooms being sold out for the dates, the Coldplay India Tour 2025 is all set to get the audience frazzled and bedazzled both literally, and figuratively. As the show keeps extending, the availability of hotel rooms is going to be another problem that concertgoers are likely to encounter in addition to flocked modes of transportation, as Mumbai will see a huge influx of millions of people for the concert.

Once the ticketing began, the frustrating queues were seemingly disappointing to a lot of fans, with some hilariously finding it easier to attend the show in other countries.
Coldplay was initially set on performing only one show, but due to high demand, the band announced a second show and eventually, a third citing phenomenal demand within hours following the disappointed buzz about long virtual queues.
Additionally, to make the concert more accessible, the platform is releasing a special batch of “Infinity Tickets” priced around Rs 2,000, available from November 22, 2024, which can only be bought in pairs. Fans are buzzing with excitement, especially after the band hinted at the possibility of a “mystery guest” for this additional date.
Ticket fraud?
A huge crowd of 13 million crammed the internet to book their slots while a lot of netizens failed in their attempts at ticket booking for the truly rare event. The tickets due to high demand are being resold at astronomical rates with some at 3.4 lakh to 10 lakh rupees per ticket depending on the aisle. Frustrated with the skyrocketing prices, fans joked about settling with desi jugaad and buying top-notch speakers to experience a personalized Coldplay performance.
The excitement took an absurd turn when the tickets for all the shows sold out within minutes on Sunday at 12 pm on BookMyShow, leaving the website crashing during the initial period of ticket booking due to an unusual amount of people logging in to try their luck. Memes came flying and people began commenting on how Coldplay’s “Fix You” turned into “Fix It” real quick with reference to the website crash and long waiting queues. BookMyShow later issued a warning to its customers alerting them about unauthorized ticket sales and went on to limit the sales to 4 tickets per person.
