The show creates a space for younger ones in the LGBTQIA+ community to feel safe, loved and wanted. Everything has a vibrant yet cozy vibe that just makes you want to snuggle up whilst watching.
Heartstopper Season 4 Release Date
Already binged Season 3’s eight episodes?
Now the real question is, when Heartstopper will get a season 4?
So, when the hell do we get to watch it?
Although no official announcement has yet been made by Netflix, we think Heartstopper season 4 is a very safe bet. For the streaming platform, the British series has become a global sensation and seemingly sheds light on its sprawling ensemble cast of imperfect characters.
After the first season, Netflix was pretty quick to renew this show with what can only be described as one of those rare double seasons, bouncing off of the strength of Season 1 to deliver season 3 (which just came out yesterday on September 3) all the way back in 2022.
What to Expect
If you’ve already binged on the series so far, you definitely know that the Season Finale ends with a bang!
Alice Oseman’s graphic novels Volume 4 — upon which season 3 is based — concludes more with a question mark as Nick faces whether to go away for university and the foreboding mystery of maintaining a long distance relationship. This will all be looked into during season 4. We will get more in a loving neatly little bundle soon enough we are sure.
Heartstopper Cast:
1. Charlie Spring (Joe Locke)
The protagonist, a gay kid at school that has been bullied pretty hard, has a crush on Nick Nelson and the feelings are reciprocated. It later becomes a sweet and endearing romance.
2. Nick Nelson (Kit Connor)
Nick Nelson starts off on the fence about his sexual identity, thinks he might maybe be bi. He begins to accept himself more and with this, he opens up to Charlie.
3. Tao Xu (William Gao)
Tao Xu is watchful of Charlie as soon as he becomes the victim of intimidation and his doubt on Nick begins. He is a loyal person and highly caring for his friends.
4. Elle (Yasmin Finney)
Elle is the new girl at school, who just happens to be a transgender, transferring between schools and leaving all of her old buddies behind. She fights loneliness there but starts to find her place within the group again.
5. Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan)
Isaac is a person who is just too busy reading to bother with any of the romantic entanglements on this series. Among his friends, he is a serene voice of reason.
6. Tara Jones (Corinna Brown)
Lesbian Tara in a relationship with Darcy, is a spunky, confident character that is one of the people who aids Elle’s transitioning.
7. Darcy Olsson (Kizzy Edgell)
Spoken for: Darcy and Tara are a nice solid couple and Darcy brings some color and comedy to the group.
8. Ben Hope (Sebastian Croft)
Ben Hope has an affair with his boyfriend Charlie (apparently Ben won’t admit to the existence of their relationship) whilst he emotionally abuses him. He is a much darker portent of Charlie’s romantic past.
9. Imogen Heaney (Rhea Norwood)
Imogen Heaney first gets a crush on Nick but when she notices that he has feelings for Charlie, Imogen is right behind him, nagging him, about getting them together.
Heartstopper Season 1 Release Date
The first season of Heartstopper was released on 22 April 2022. Filming for series one began on location throughout England in April 2021 and finished that June.
Heartstopper season 1 rating : 8.6/10
In comparision to the 80s when LGBTQ stories were predominantly gay, white, and misenthropic where boy meets boy stories typically ended up with characters socially isolated, parentally sundered, religiously banished and often rejected or left alone due to the death of the love interest or just rejection, Heartstopper is instead a blissfully innocent depiction of being young and coming of age: the awakening of our sexual identities as human beings depicted from various perspectives of the main characters.
It exudes optimism and leaves one with the joy of life upon viewing the stories while visiting the challenges of self acceptance, coming of age, self love, with punctuated radiant memorable happy moments.
Heartstopper Season 2 Release Date
Netflix announced the second season on May 20, 2022, along with the third season. Production for season 2 began on September 22, 2022 and wrapped in early December 2022. Season two was released on Netflix on August 3, 2023.
Heartstopper season 2 rating : 8.5/10
The series consists of supportive parents and family members, who allow an investigation focusing on the social politics of popularity. Those of us that yearn a meaningful love life, wish a story such as this existed during our own coming of age period to navigate the tumultuous maze of self acceptance.
An admirer of the show dropped a review on IMDb that says “Incredible!! I’ve never written a review before but I just had to for this absolute gem of a show!”
Heartstopper Season 3 Release Date

Heartstopper season 3 rating : not reviewed on IMDb yet
The core of Heartstopper is a love story between these characters seamlessly woven with themes of LGBTQ+ identity, mental health, friendship and that messy part of life called love.
